You would need to have a local friend to show you. So where are we❓ It is a new trend in Thailand to build coffee shops just in the middle of the rice fields! Yes! It sounds cool, crazy and totally makes sense!□□□□□□Since they are not easy to find, those places are hidden from regular tourists. And the crowds gather everyday, 10 to 9, Sundays till 6.This is a real hidden gem that you can only find with private transportation □, GPS luck □, and Thai language skills □□ because it doesn’t even have an English name (try to use Bann Pai Na Cafe and see□) When you see the lines at Paina, they are for their poke bowl. Add the potato salad, green salad on the other side and you just can't beat it. Throw in some of Paina's special dipping sauce and we're just getting started. " And just for kicks, we're adding a veggie kebob, something Russ could do at home but he'd destroy it almost immediately." In the end, the ahi and veggies are both grilled to perfection. They start with a piece of fresh ahi seared on a grill press. It's a build your own lunch plate selection. "We're actually going to do a Paina Plate today" said Uehara. "So Derek, what are we making today? Let's paina in the Paina Café" said Russ. Co-owner Derek Uehara was brave enough to put Russ to work in the kitchen. It's good and it's not that expensive" said Apaka. They have entrees off the grill and a wall full of sandwiches and salads to choose from. "Poke over the hot rice, da best!" But the Paina Cafe is much more that just poke bowls. Come down and grab some for yourself, super good" said Kyle Shimabukuro of Pacific Heights. "Paina Cafe gets the best poke bowls on the island. Tucked away in the middle of the Ward Warehouse, Paina patrons enjoy a varied menu, but some don't need a menu at all. The Paina Cafe, opened just a few months but already they've got a big time fan base. Or the poke bowl" said Rae Apaka of McCully.
